Disability and Dyslexia

We believe that every student should have an equal opportunity to acquire knowledge and prove their ability.

The university currently has over 2,300 students with disabilities, approximately 11% of the student population, so it is not unusual to be a disabled student here. The disability and dyslexia team coordinate support for students who declare a disability or a specific learning difficulty.

As a disabled student you may face obstacles to learning. We are here to advise and support you as an applicant and student to ensure you get full access to what the university has to offer, and any extra assistance needed to put you on a level playing field with other students.

There is support available in the following areas:
  • Specific Learning Difficulties Such as Dyslexia
  • Physical and Mobility Impairment
  • Deaf and Hearing Impairment
  • Blind and Visual Impairment
  • Mental Health
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Other Disabilities And Long-Term Medical Condition
