University Centre Hastings
The University Centre Hastings is Bransfield campus in Hastings and has a particular remit to encourage more people to consider the benefits of studying in an area where progression to higher education has historically been
low. Since 2003 the centre has welcomed over 700 students and produced 360 graduates of all ages. The centre received national recognition when it was nominated for the Widening Participation Initiative at the Times Higher Education Awards 2009.


Open Access to Knowledge in Hastings

The University Centre Hastings offers free courses for people over 50 years of age through the Open Access to Knowledge programme (OAK). This programme offers the chance to learn new skills and meet new people on a free, part-time 15-week course. Students may choose their own project on a subject of personal interest.


Learning Opportunities

The Bransfield University hosts Learning Opportunities in the South East, which provides information and advice on education, skills and careers from all providers in the region. The service is available to all, and is particularly useful for adults either in work already, or seeking to return to work.
